Improve the quality of your life by bringing body, mind, and spirit into balance. Tarot helps to identify areas in need of balance. Tarotspa’s diverse services help improve those areas through: tarot, nutrition, life coaching, meridian tapping, and essential oils for health, facials, and in home Aromatouch application.
What is tarot? An unbound book of images you arrange in unlimited arrangements that self analyzes multiple outcomes affecting your mind, body, and energy.
How does tarot work? Scientists say that everything in our universe is made of energy. We tap this energy when following intuition or instinct. Sometimes we receive premonitions or feelings and wish we had heeded our instincts. In brain studies coincidentally being performed internationally at the time of the 9/11 attacks, there was a global increase of anxiety registered 24 hours before the tragedy. Somehow, we knew something was coming but didn’t trust our feelings enough to respond to those instincts. Being in tune with our intuition/energy gives us the opportunity to act upon hunches or feelings with confidence.
For instance, have you ever got the feeling that you should call a friend and when you do they say ”I was just going to call you!”…I typically get a warning about small things and find myself saying, “Why didn’t I listen to myself! I knew that was going to happen!” Our instincts are fueled by our energy.
Generally, we know our energy as low or high and not much else about it. Low energy people are coasting on fumes, often sick, stressed, or tired. Tired people have a hard time hearing their instincts. It’s hard for them to make decisions much less feel motivated to make changes. Often they feel dissatisfied in one or more areas of their lives.
In reverse, high energy people may be healthy in mind, body, and spirit. They may seem happy all the time and are quite often successful because they are in touch with their inner feelings, needs, and instincts. They trust themselves, have confidence in their choices and are often not afraid to try new things.
You can also control your circumstances with your thoughts that are made of energy. If you say and picture negative things –often they happen through negative energy output. Athletes often imagine themselves succeeding in competition before the event creating a positive performance.
The cards work off your energy. They reflect the positive and negative circumstances and consciousness you bring into your life. Similar to art therapy, instead of you “drawing” the cards, you draw the cards with universal symbols that reflect archetypes, events, people in your life, emotions, time lines, spirit that reflect your energy. It’s up to me, the reader to help interpret the cards you’ve drawn.
I will be doing a blog shortly on what energy is and the difference between energy and spirit which will hopefully clarify and expand on these small examples.
Does Tarot predict the future?
Tarot cards have been around for thousands of years with obscure beginnings. Their staying power has been in their accuracy in communicating between what the reader wants to know and what actually occurs. So does that mean the future is fixed? I think not.
One’s outcome could change in any time line from 5 minutes to 15 years and the greater the length of time the greater the opportunity to change an outcome. Think of millions of choices made everyday for years and the how ones perspective changes. The cards are an opportunity to view possible outcomes and to consider multiple possibilities. Spending time with the cards is time spent invested in yourself to help make decisions that could affect the outcome of your life.
People are more often than not set in their ways and routine oriented and become more so as they age. Making changes in their lives to change an outcome sometimes take more effort than one wants to put forth. A person that is more routine oriented and lives by a never changing set of standards may experience less flexibility in their life choices and their tarot reading may reflect and very predictable outcomes and yearly readings may be sufficient.
On the other hand, the more comfortable one is with change, or a young person can create unlimited opportunities for the future. This person may live moment to moment- by the way the wind blows- and may receive great diversity in possible outcomes in their readings. Readings may fluctuate daily, weekly and monthly. Regular readings would be best.
For the average client, they fall somewhere in between these 2 extremes. Monthly readings on a variety of topics may be advisable.
78 cards
There are hundreds of decks. I personally use Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Deck. I find it’s well suited to a complete esoteric education and various “languages” to interpret for the querent. It contains Astrology, Numerology, Kabbahla, Hermetics, and Psychology and much more. Aleister had a true link with greater concienceness that is reflected in the cards.
22 Major Arcana Cards symbolize: Situations, universal principles, archetypes, teachings, plot lines…
Major Arcana Cards 0-7: Steps from birth to young adult show learning how to live in society.
Major Arcana Cards 8-14: Universal laws we confront, question, or deal with in becoming who we are.
Major Arcana Cards 15- 21: Our spiritual development.
The 4 “suits” reflect universal elements of creation with spirit overseeing all of them. They are given different names in different decks but basically fall into the following categories:
Wands: Energy, fire, spring (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
Swords: Mental, thoughts, air, winter (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius)
Cups: Emotional, feelings, water, summer (Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio)
Disks/Pentacles: Body, physical, material, earth, fall (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)
16 court cards (sometimes given different names) fall into the following categories and can symbolize: people in our lives, , expertise in suits, or action being taken.
Kings/Knight (Thoth Deck)
Queens
Prince
Pages/Princess (Thoth Deck)
Ace through 10 of each suit represent the details of life’s opportunities and challenges. The numbers of the cards can symbolize timelines, connections to Kabbahla, or affirmative (even cards) or negative (odd cards) responses.
To remember the progression of intensity of the numbers, think of them as planning stages of a project…
Aces: Beginnings, Source, early stages
2’s: Partnerships, balance, choices, time of reprieve
3’s: Refining plans, preparing to act, growth, collaboration
4’s: Foundation, order, practical attainment of what you’ve grown
5’s: Adjustment, refinement, uncertainty, progress, shifts
6’s: Balance, even exchange, close to goal
7’s: Triumph, luck, multiple options because of good planning, wisdom, order
8’s: Re-evaluation, taking care of details you missed, setting priorities, fine tuning, what to keep, what to release, regenerate and renew for final push.
9’s: Concluding, flexibility in what outcome looks like in end (how it may be different than planned), fulfillment, integrate the changes into your life.
10’s: Transition to something new, perhaps inspired by your success, mastery, completion, overabundance
